Man with dunce cap led through the streets of Beijing
January 25, 1967. In order to promote his Cultural Revolution, Mao Zedong used radical student groups, such as the Red Guard, to impress Chinese Communist Party ideals on citizens. Anyone opposing these ideas often found themselves at the mercy of the Red Guard, including this government official forced to walk through Beijing wearing a hat advertising his offenses.
